INDUSTRIAL

Our industrial heating and cooling equipment is manufactured to exceed the most rigorous specifications and provide reliable, continuous operation in the harshest conditions. Typical environments include:

  • Petroleum refining facilities
  • Water treatment plants
  • Food processing
  • Mines
  • Corrosive environments
  • Classified areas (explosion proof)
  • Extremely dusty or dirty conditions

Materials and components used in construction are based on site requirements and project specifications. Typical options include:

  • Galvannealed, galvanized, stainless steel or aluminum construction
  • Class 1 Division / Zone 2 and Class 1 Division/Zone 1 certification
  • Heresite, phenolic, ElectroFin or epoxy coatings
  • NEMA 7 enclosures
  • Chemical filtration options
  • Spark resistant fans
  • Rigid aluminum conduit
  • NFPA 496 Compliance
  • H2S and SO2 detection equipment
  • Fire shutdown capabilities
  • Controls programming adhering to critical control narratives
  • Redundant components
  • Wash down provisions

Industrial equipment is available in a wide range of capacities customized to fit specific dimensions and include special features. Controls are available from all of the major manufacturers programmed to conform to the most involved P&ID drawings and control narratives.

Explosion Proof

Southampton Industrial specializes in manufacturing explosion proof equipment for all area classifications. Our extensive knowledge of HVAC equipment, codes and safety requirements ensures equipment is manufactured and certified to be in strict compliance with all relevant codes and standards.

Chemical Filtration

Chemical filtration systems (“scrubbers”) can be integrated into air handling units or provided as standalone equipment. As with our industrial air handlers, construction options include stainless steel, aluminum, galvanized and galvannealed metal. Chemical filtration units are manufactured for both general purpose areas and hazardous locations up to Class 1 Division/Zone 1.

Adsorbent media can be provided in bulk form in deep beds or in cartridges which are either refillable or disposable. Chemical media types are selected for the safe removal of unwanted contaminants such as H2S, SO2, chlorine, solvents and others.

Ventilation

Ventilation systems form an important part of many industrial HVAC projects. Custom ventilation solutions can be manufactured in accordance with critical control and safety system narratives for general purpose and classified areas.

Innovative ventilation units are available for higher temperature applications where mechanical cooling is not required. Mixed air controls provide the right amounts of return and outdoor air to maintain a constant supply air temperature when 100% outdoor air is not required. Mixed air ventilation units can also be provided with energy recovery options.
